Below is a simple summary of which garments are waterproof based on a three-level scale. We have formulated our waterproofness scale based on the waterproofness of the material, whether the garment has taped or welded seams, and how the garment is constructed.
Not waterproof - This garment is not waterproof and will not repel rain.
Water-repellent - This garment is water-repellent and will repel light rain for a short length of time.
Waterproof - This garment is fully waterproof, both material and construction.
Below is a simple summary of which garments have insulating properties. The warmth scale is based on a number of factors such as weight of padding, type of padding, length and construction of the garment.
Remember that everyone experiences heat differently and some people feel the cold more than others. This scale is intended to provide a pointer regarding how warm a garment is.
Shell - This is a shell garment and has no insulating properties.
Warm - This garment is warm and has insulating properties.
Extra warm - This garment is extra warm and has highly insulating properties.
Below is a simple summary of the breathability of our garments.
No breathability - This garment has a low capacity for transporting moisture in the form of water vapour, which means that you may experience a damp, clammy feeling if you plan to wear the garment for any significant level of physical activity.
Breathability - This garment has been made from a material that has the capacity to allow water vapour to pass through.
Mechanical breathability - This garment offers mechanical breathability, which means that we have incorporated one or more vents into the garment so that air can pass through. These vents are carefully positioned, so that water cannot penetrate the garment.

Aston is a fully water and windproof jacket with taped seams. The jacket is made from a soft, matte material with a classic fit and a high collar. The jacket has a button in the front opening to keep it closed if you choose to leave the zip undone for additional ventilation. The hood is detachable, has a malleable peak and can be adjusted at the back and sides. Adjustable hem and cuffs. The jacket has two side pockets, one inside pocket and one breast pocket on the left with zips and a second breast pocket on the right with a velcro fastener. The jacket lining has been dyed using a solution dyeing technique. This technique reduces water, energy and chemical consumption during production.
Tricky to know which size to pick? The measurements in the size charts for men are given in centimetres. Remember that you only need to go by chest measurement for jackets and tops, and hip and waist measurements for bottoms. All measurements are based on a height of 168 centimetres (plus/minus 4 centimetres).
|Inside leg length||80||82||84||85||86||87||88|
If your measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend opting for the smaller size if you want a more snug fit and the large size for a looser fit.
Using a tape measure, measure directly against your body in centimetres to determine your size. In order to pick the correct size for jackets and tops, you should take your chest measurement. In order to pick the correct size for bottoms, go by your hip and waist measurements. Range of movement is already taken into account.
Measure over the fullest part of your bust and over the shoulder blades. Go by this measurement when selecting jackets and tops.
Measure your waist at the narrowest point. If you want to know what size to choose for bottoms, go by your hip measurement first of all. Waist measurement is secondary.
Measure around your hips at the widest point, which is roughly 20 cm below your waist.
Inside leg length is measured from the crotch down to the floor.
No one feels comfortable in footwear that is too big or too small. In order to make it easier for you to find your size, you need to measure based on the internal length of the sole. Measure your foot from heel to big toe to determine the correct size.
|Internal length of sole (cm)||26,8||27,4||28,0||28,6||29,3||30,0|
It can sometimes be tricky to know what size you need in order to keep your hands warm. You need to measure the length of your hand from your wrist to the tip of your middle finger (A). Measure around your hand, not including the thumb (B). The measurements are given in centimetres.
You need to measure the circumference of your head at its widest point, roughly one centimetre above your eyebrows and eyes. Don’t pull the tape measure too tight. If the measurement falls between two whole centimetres, round up to the larger size. No tape measure? In that case, you can measure using a length of string, and then measure it against a ruler or folding rule. The circumference of the head is measured in centimetres.
|Circumference of head||54||56||58||60||62|
