A new era of nylon

For more than a century, Didriksons has protected people from the harshest weather. Today, we take another big leap. Together with Fibrant and their innovative nylon solution EcoLactam®, we are reshaping how nylon is made and used.

Built for outdoor performance

After several years of development and testing, EcoLactam® nylon is now introduced in styles crafted for functional everyday use.

Our EcoLactam® fabrics feature a durable, high-performance laminate that withstands 15,000 mm water column pressure according to ISO standard EN ISO-811. This ensures full protection, no matter the weather.

Jackets like Varja and Dario are great examples of how high performance, durability and reduced environmental impact can coexist in commercial outerwear.

Improved production process

EcoLactam® reduces emissions by improving the most carbon-intensive step of nylon production. Through a process using cleaner technology and lower energy the result is a high-performance material with a significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional nylon.

Real impact is scalable impact

EcoLactam® is a next-generation nylon created by Fibrant, developed through patented production processes that significantly reduce greenhouse-gas emissions compared to conventional nylon. This amazing material has up to 70% lower carbon footprint, without compromising performance.

“Our work together with Fibrant is part of a long term commitment to change how we source and develop materials. Scaling responsibly is key if we want to make a real difference.”

A shared ambition

Together with Fibrant, we have spent three years transforming a promising idea into a scalable, reliable and traceable material solution. The aim is clear: to bring responsible nylon innovation to a larger scale.

For Didriksons, this is about more than changing how products are made. It is about taking responsibility for every step in the value chain. And about working with partners who share our belief that long-term action and scalable innovation is needed in order to have a lasting impact on an industry that needs to move forward.
