Below is a simple summary of which garments are waterproof based on a three-level scale. We have formulated our waterproofness scale based on the waterproofness of the material, whether the garment has taped or welded seams, and how the garment is constructed.
Not waterproof - This garment is not waterproof and will not repel rain.
Water-repellent - This garment is water-repellent and will repel light rain for a short length of time.
Waterproof - This garment is fully waterproof, both material and construction.
Below is a simple summary of the durability of our outerwear. How hard-wearing a garment is is based on the material’s durability, texture and extra reinforcement. The durability is tested by rubbing the garment with sandpaper.
Hard-wearing - This garment is hard-wearing in relation to the material it is made from.
Very hard-wearing - This garment is made from a hard-wearing material.
Extremely hard-wearing - This garment is made from a strong, hard-wearing material with extra reinforcement in exposed areas.
We use this in garments created to withstand wind and light rainfalls. The materials are highly breathable and comfortable to wear. It manages light weather conditions, but should not be worn in heavier weather conditions.
Lövet softshell pants with durable Cordura reinforcement on the knees and seat. The pants are windproof with an elasticated drawstring waist and elasticated hems. The right leg has a pocket for all unearthed treasures. The fabric is water-repellent with a PFC-free water-repellent finish.
All measurements are taken directly on the body:
Measure the widest chest area and around the shoulder blades.
Measure the smallest area.
Measure around the widest part of the seat.
Measure from the crotch to the floor.
Measure entire body when standing straight against a wall.
